Encouraging
regular saving is the main priority of the Danum Credit Union. Savers
can be of any age, we have a Young Saver membership for the under
16s. Members' savings in the Credit Union are called shares, as
each member is also a shareholder and owner of the credit union.
The Credit Union
provides its members with FREE life insurance on their shares (savings).
In the event of a member's death, the member's nominated beneficiary
will receive both the member's savings and a sum from the insurance.
Dividends
Dividends are
the members' reward for regularly saving and are calculated from
the surplus made at the end of each financial year. As a non-profit
making business, the Danum Credit Union gives a dividend to all
of its regular savers (shareholders).
