The vineyard at Barnack
The Area

Barnack village is situated just 4 miles to the south-wast of the medieval town of Stamford and is perhaps best known for three important historical features: ancient limestone quarrying, its Anglo Saxon Church and a Bronze Age burial site dating back to around 2330 BC.

The ancient limestone workings which provided the stone for Peterbrough and Ely cathedral's are now part of the national nature reserve known as the Hills and Hollows, its limestone grassland being the protected habitat for a number of rare flowers and insects.

The village has many amenities including a public house which serves lunchtime and evening meals, an outdoor clothing store, post office/grocery with mini-bank to name but a few.
